SPMA COACH OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS

There is no greater honor that can be given a coach than the recognition by swimmers and peers for outstanding contributions to Masters Swimming on both a national and local level. Nominations will be reviewed on the following criteria by a panel of members from the SPMA Committee. The SPMA Committee encourages any registered SPMA member to nominate a Coach of the Year, and forward the name to be considered for the SPMA award. The coach selected as SPMA's Coach of the Year will be profiled in the May-June issue of the SPMA Newsletter, and will be honored at the SPMA Short Course Yards Championships. SPMA will then submit the selected coach as nomination for USMS Coach of the Year. Submissions must be received by March 31st of each year, and should include the following information:

SPMA Coach of the Year Criteria:


  • Letter of nomination and up to four letters of support.
  • Accomplishments over the past year (club and individual). Include: club size, growth, and results.
  • Publications/Articles/Newsletter articles etc. Please submit copies of names of publications.
  • Contributions to USMS and SPMA: Meets hosted, clinics run, LMSC committee participation, presentations.
  • Long term contributions to Swimming. Number of years in masters, special accomplishments, etc.
