of the October 16, 2003 Conference call

Vice Chair report: The Short Course Yards
meet schedule for 2004 is as follows:
January 10(Sat.) Las Vegas, January 25(Sun.) El Segundo, February 14 or
15 in Santa Clarita (new facility), March 7(Sun.) Cal Tech Pentathlon, March
21(Sun.) Mission Viejo (tentative), MSP to
have Short Course Regionals at U.C.Irvine on April 30,May 1 & 2. UCLA and Loyola might also have meets during
our Short Course Yards season.
Registrar’s report: MSP
to allow Swim magazine to continue publishing our newsletter as an insert, at a
rate of $2.10 per swimmer with the provision that if paper costs go up we will
incur the cost of the paper increase. MSP to let Julie order 10,000 window envelopes at a
cost of $631.88. MSP to approve Julies report as written. Julie also
submitted her report in writing and it is included in these minutes.
Awards: MSP
to award the Jim Marcus Award for 2002 to Gary McDowell and for 2003 to Lucy
Johnson
Open Water Report: MSP to hand out as many of the 2002 open water awards
as we can at the upcoming swim meets.
The awards that we are not able to hand out at the meets will be mailed
out prior to the end of the year.
Old Business: none
New Business: We received a request from
ISHOF for our mailing list. MSP to
not send our mailing list to ISHOF. Re
affirming our standing policy that we do not share our mailing list.
MSP to submit
Bekah Wright is the new chair in charge of putting
more fitness items in the newsletter.
The next newsletter deadline is November 15.
Elections of our new officers will be held at our
annual meeting on November 20. All our
current officers will be running again.
The nominees were approved.
