of the November 17, 2005 Annual Meeting
Call to Order: by the Chair at 8:25p.m.

to approve the minutes of the August 18, 2005 meeting
Officer Reports:
Chair:
Vice Chair: Short Course Meters meets: December 2, 3,
& 4 (SPMA Regional) Long Beach Grunions at
Secretary’s report:
Treasurer’s report: The treasurer’s report was
submitted in writing and it is included in these minutes. MSP to accept the treasurer’s report.
Registrar’s report: Julie submitted her report in
writing and it is included in these minutes.
MSP to
give away old VHS videos that have not been rented in the last four years. By the executive committees approval Team
SPMA was formed to allow swimmers who are unattached, swim at Worlds (with no
relay privileges). MSP to approve
a ten dollar discount on the club registration to those teams who register
their clubs before November 1. The
committee also approved the ordering of more SPMA envelopes.
MSP to accept the Registrar’s report as written.
Old
business: Michael Heather has found a laser measure tool for
under $400.00. A discussion on measuring pools followed Michaels report.
New Business: The new SPMA officers are:
MSP to accept the new changes to SPMA’s bylaws (also
included in these minutes).

Section IV, Membership and Voting Privileges, number 1:
change: "...and member who has attended..." to "...and any
member who has attended..."
Section VI, Terms of Office
change current language to read: "The officers of the SPMSC shall server
for two (2) years and begin their tenure on January 1st following the annual
meeting of the SPMSC.
Add a new Section IX and renumber following sections:
Section IX
Grievance Procedure
1) Disputes arising within a
single club shall be filed directly with such club and handled pursuant to that
club’s rules and procedures.
2) Disputes during
competition shall be resolved at the event, if at all possible. Failing that,
the complainant shall inform the Chairman of SPMA, in writing, of the nature
and details of the dispute within 30 days of the incident.
3) If a dispute
arises outside of competition, the complainant shall inform the Chairman of
SPMA, in writing, of the nature and details of the dispute within 30 days of
the incident.
4) The Executive
Committee shall investigate any written complaints and make a recommendation as
to the resolution for action by the Southern Pacific Masters Swimming
Committee.
