Officer Reports:
Chair Wayne McCauley: SPMA
Coach of the Year nominations for 2004 are being accepted until March 31.
Treasurer’s report: Jeff submitted his report in writing and it is
included in these minutes. MSP to accept Jeff’s report as
written.
Registrar’s report: SPMA’s registration has increased over the
previous year. Julie attended the monthly SCOPPOA meeting and said that
there was a really nice plug for masters swimming and that she was nominated to
be their secretary. Julie submitted her
report in writing and it is included in these minutes MSP to accept Julie’s report as written.
Awards: The 2002 SPMA ocean medals were mailed
out. The 2003 pool swimmers of the year
awards will be handed out at SCY championships in May.
Open
water report: Lucy handed out a list of open water swims
that are currently listed on the SPMA website (www.spma.net). Swims that have currently been confirmed are
denoted by an X. Lucy still needs help
compiling the points from last year’s ocean races.
Fitness:
Bekah’s article will appear in Tuesday’s
Old Business: Voting for SPMA’s convention delegates. Some discussion took place before the voting
whether to allow absentee ballots. It
was then voted on and MSP to NOT
allow absentee ballots. There was also some discussion as to
whether all the potential delegates had met the requirement of posting their
resume on the SPMA website. (It was then
decided to allow for an oral resume) The
committee voted the following delegates to the convention:
New business: Mary is looking into SPMA shirts for
convention. MSP for Mary to purchase 24 highest quality polo shirts.
