Minutes of the June 24, 2004

 

Call to Order: by the chair Wayne McCauley at 8:04p.m.

 

Attending:  Connie Barrett, Tom Boyd, Trisha Commons, Mike Collins, Errol Graham, Julie Heather, Michael Heather, Mary Hull, Lucy Johnson, Wayne McCauley, Bob Merrick, Mark Moore, Jeff Moxie  Sergio Rodriguez, Jessica Seaton, Steve Schofield, Shannon Sullivan, Tom Trapp.

 

MSP the minutes from May 6, 2004 conference call.

 

Officers Reports:

Chair Wayne McCauley: Wayne will post his report on the SPMA website.

Vice Chairs report: Purchased eight new stopwatches and he is working on finding the best price for EZ-UPS.  Upcoming Long Course swim meets are: Santa Barbara on July 10, LCM championships at Mission Viejo on July 30-31, & August 1.  (Online entries are up and working for the Mission Viejo meet.)  USAS convention is September 15-19 in Orlando Florida.  Short Course Meters swim meets are: October 3 at Mission Viejo, October 23 or 24 at UCLA, November 6 or 7 at Santa Clarita, November 21 Turkey shoot at Pierce College.  Short Course Meters Championship bids were postponed until the in person meeting on August 26.

 

Treasurer’s report:  Jeff submitted his report in writing and it is included with these minutes.

 

Registrars report: Julie submitted her report in writing and it is included with these minutes.

 

Open water report:  Lucy and Shannon are working on a point system and updating the current schedule.

 

Old business:  Mike Heather will send the logo from the SPMA medals to Wayne.

Jeff will send out the delegate convention registration payment by the August 1 deadline.

New business:  Nominations for the USMS Dorothy Donnelly award are as follows: Trisha Commons, Mary Hull, Mark Moore, and Jeff Moxie.

MSP SPMA requirement that meet directors have preliminary electronic results by the end of the meets day.

 

Next meeting:  August 26 at the Long Beach Jewish Community Center at 8:00pm

 

Our annual meeting / potluck will be on November 18, 2004 at the Heather’s home Pasadena.
