to
approve the
November 2002 – August 24, 2003 (unaudited) treasurer’s report with the change
of eliminating line number 92. (The
treasurer’s report was also submitted in writing and it is included in these
minutes)
Registrar’s report:
Julie submitted her report in writing and
it is included in these minutes.
Awards:
the 2002 pool swimmers of the year Karen Melick and Frank Piemme were presented
their awards at the Long Course regionals in Mission Viejo.
Open Water
Report: MSP
to send a letter to Dave Van Mouwerik (race director for the 5th annual Pismo to
Avila Pier to pier swim) to read as follows: The decision as to whether or not
to hold the fifth annual Pismo-to-Avila Pier to pier swim we suggest he make
that decision after consulting local authorities who have responsibility for
safety procedures in the waters of Avila Bay. In addition, should you choose to
go forward with the race we recommend you require a supplemental waiver from
every entrant directed specifically towards current circumstances. Lastly, given
current conditions, we recommend you eliminate the wetsuit division.

MSP to
accept Julie Heather’s bid for Registrar (starting in October 2003 for 2 years).
SPMA’s
elections are coming up. Anyone
interested in running for office should contact the nomination committee chair
